Mr Watson’s Place on the Web

Mr Watson’s place for ideas, resources and all things teaching!

A little bit about me!

My name is Mike Watson and I am a Y3 teacher, numeracy and DT subject leader in the UK.

I have been an ‘Acting’ Deputy Head, ICT Co-Ordinator and Assessment Co-Ordinator.

I have been teaching for 8 years and am currently teaching a Year 3 class, after a move from Year 6 in September 2008.

I have only recently got into this blogging lark and really see it’s potential – my class love it, and have discovered it as a real home school link – they love to see their work, pictures, and things that are happening in school there for all to see, parents seem to be becoming keener too!

I decided to start this blog up and see where it takes me really.

Resources, Ideas, Links, Activities – who knows?

A chance for people to communicate and share too!

Thanks for stopping by, invite your colleagues and friends!

If there is something you think I can help with or you would like to see, just let me know and I will try to help you out – that’s what this is for I guess!

Mike

    Greetings Mr Watson,

I’m a Pastor here in the USA. I’m presently putting together a series based on Rome and the Roman Soldier for an up coming Bible conference.

I would love to use your photo as the Centurian and make a 6 foot banner as well. Will that be ok?

Do you have the photo in a High Resolution about 300dpi file? If you do can you send it to this email:

    AnthonyPonceti@aol.com
    or
    GoalsMentoring@aol.com

If not, perhaps you can send me a 8X10 high color photo.

I would like to compensate you for your kind consideration. Let me know.

    Greetings,
Are you still around? Have not heard since January 2010. Appreciate you contacting me
    Thanks

      Good afternoon,
I am still around, but with a change in personal circumstances, the birth of my daughter and a general lack of time, I haven’t been able to get onto the blog and do any adding or editing!
In response to you question about the picture – feel free, it was only the result of a Google Image Search, so I have no rights to the image, and while the offer of compensation is both very kind (and very tempting!), there is no need whatsoever.

I have only the image used here, so I can’t help you with a High Res version, sorry.

      All the best
      Mike Watson

Really impressed with all the info on your site. I am running an Inset with our staff on monday and will point them in this direction – we are trying to establish a creative curriculum (that old chestnut again!), would love to hear more on how you plan your topics and what format this takes. xxx Thanks for all you hard work!

I think I plan them like anyone else!
Start with the theme and work out – then sort into loose curriculum areas and crossovers.

      Then I Google it!!
